The research is motivated by the need to enhance students' writing skills, as writing is an essential part of mastering Indonesian language. The study focuses on improving the writing process through the application of the Quantum Writing method, which integrates both creative thinking and structured writing techniques. Data collection was conducted through observations, interviews, and questionnaires, followed by analysis using paired-sample t-tests. The result of this research is the development of a comprehensive learning model and teaching materials, including a guidebook for instructors, which can be used as a resource for teaching creative writing. The study found that 85.81% of respondents considered the developed guidebook to be highly suitable for supporting the writing learning process. Additionally, field testing revealed a significant improvement in student writing performance, as indicated by the higher delta scores between pre-tests and post-tests in the experimental group compared to the control group. The guidebook underwent validation in terms of content (82.05%), media (89.58%), and design (85.42%), and revisions were made based on the feedback from the validators. The findings of this study suggest that the Quantum Writing method can significantly enhance the creative writing skills of students, making learning more engaging and effective.
2024-11-26T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.umsrappang.ac.id/LOTUS/article/view/1789Enhancing Descriptive Paragraph Writing Skills Through Mind Mapping in Seventh-Grade Students at SMP Muhammadiyah Pangsid2024-12-19T05:25:04+00:00Erlita Erlitaerlitazainddin13@gmail.com
The purpose of this study is to describe: (1) the implementation of descriptive paragraph writing instruction using the mind mapping model in seventh-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Pangsid, and (2) the students' ability in writing descriptive paragraphs using the mind mapping model. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive design. The subjects of this study are the teacher and seventh-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Pangsid. The object of this research is the teaching process of descriptive paragraph writing using the mind mapping model. Data were collected through observation and tests and analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The findings indicate that: (1) the teaching of descriptive paragraph writing using the mind mapping model conducted by the teacher aligns with the theoretical framework, and (2) the students' ability in writing descriptive paragraphs is categorized as good, with an average score of 78.13. Despite the satisfactory results, the teacher's performance can be further improved by providing more intensive exercises, both in creating mind maps and in developing them into paragraphs, to achieve optimal results.

2024-11-26T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.umsrappang.ac.id/LOTUS/article/view/1790Development of a Problem-Solving Learning Model Based on Local Wisdom for Junior High School Students in Sidrap2024-12-19T05:25:04+00:00Jusrianto Jalajusriantojala19851@gmail.com
This study aims to develop a problem-solving learning model based on local wisdom for junior high school students in Sidrap. The objectives of the research include: (1) designing a prototype of the learning model; (2) developing supporting materials such as lesson plans, student worksheets, and teacher guides; and (3) validating the model to ensure its suitability with students’ characteristics and educational goals. The study adopts the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) to systematically design and evaluate the learning model and its accompanying materials. In the first year, the research focuses on the Define and Design stages, involving a needs analysis to identify students’ educational and cultural contexts, as well as the characteristics of teaching materials. A collaborative approach is used to develop the prototype, including field studies, literature reviews, teamwork in designing the model, and expert validation. These steps ensure that the learning model incorporates the values of local wisdom relevant to the Sidrap community and aligns with the objectives of mathematics education. The initial results indicate that the prototype of the learning model and its materials meet the criteria of "validity" based on expert evaluations. The model effectively integrates local wisdom into problem-solving activities, making mathematics learning more relevant and meaningful for students. By embedding cultural elements into the curriculum, the model fosters critical and creative thinking while enhancing students' appreciation of their cultural heritage.

This research contributes to educational innovation by combining mathematics learning with local wisdom, addressing gaps in traditional teaching methods. The findings have significant implications for improving students’ problem-solving skills and promoting character education rooted in cultural values. Future stages will involve empirical testing to refine the model and expand its applicability to broader educational settings.
2024-11-25T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.umsrappang.ac.id/LOTUS/article/view/1791The Effect of Project-Based Learning Model on Creativity and Learning Outcomes of Indonesian Language Students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang2024-12-19T05:25:04+00:00Idayanti Idayantiidayantisyahlan33@gmail.com
This study aims to examine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model on the creativity and learning outcomes of Indonesian Language students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang. A quasi-experimental design with a post-test only control group approach was utilized. The study population consisted of Indonesian Language students, with two randomly selected classes serving as the sample. The experimental group was taught using the PBL model, while the control group employed conventional teaching methods. Data on creativity were collected using questionnaires, and learning outcomes were assessed through standardized tests.Data analysis was performed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) via SPSS software. The results revealed that: (1) the PBL model significantly improved student creativity (F = 333.687, p < 0.05), (2) the PBL model had a significant positive effect on learning outcomes (F = 85.885, p < 0.05), and (3) there was a significant difference in creativity and learning outcomes between the PBL and conventional teaching groups.

The findings indicate that the PBL model fosters an active and engaging learning environment, encouraging students to solve problems creatively and collaboratively. This approach not only enhances creativity but also improves academic performance. Based on these results, it is recommended that educators adopt the PBL model to promote higher levels of creativity and learning outcomes. Further research is encouraged to explore its application in other disciplines.
2024-11-25T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.umsrappang.ac.id/LOTUS/article/view/1792Enhancing Students' Conceptual Understanding through the Generative Learning Model on the Topic of 'Light2024-12-19T05:56:03+00:00Roni .roni1@gmail.com
This study aimed to investigate the effect of the generative learning model on students' conceptual understanding of the topic "Light" at SMA Muhammadiyah Pangsid. The research utilized a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population consisted of all students at SMA Muhammadiyah Pangsid, and the sample was selected through simple random sampling. A multiple-choice test was used as the research instrument to measure students' conceptual understanding before and after implementing the generative learning model. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests, and the results revealed a significant improvement in students' understanding, with a -tobs value (-59.73) less than -ttable (-2.093) at a significance level of α = 0.05. These findings demonstrate that the generative learning model effectively enhances students' conceptual understanding of physics, particularly in the topic of "Light." The study emphasizes the importance of active learning models in fostering deeper conceptual comprehension among students.
2024-12-19T05:56:03+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
