Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain kuasi-eksperimental. Penelitian dilakukan dengan membandingkan dua kelompok mahasiswa, yaitu kelompok yang menggunakan media video dalam pembelajaran dan kelompok yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar dan kuesioner motivasi sebelum dan setelah penerapan media video. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media video secara signifikan meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Media video tidak hanya membantu memvisualisasikan materi yang sulit, tetapi juga membuat proses pembelajaran lebih menarik dan interaktif. Its decentralized, user-generated nature allows individuals and communities especially marginalized groups to participate in dialogues and mobilize support for critical issues. From global campaigns like #MeToo to localized protests such as #JusticeForNirbhaya, digital platforms have amplified real-time citizen engagement and influenced policy shifts.However, despite its significant potential, social media comes with inherent challenges. Misinformation, cyberbullying, algorithmic content bias, and the digital divide pose ongoing threats to its integrity and reach. It highlights how citizen-generated content can address environmental challenges, such as restoring polluted rivers, reducing plastic waste, and preserving wildlife habitats. Digital platforms can support grassroots movements, influence policy decisions, and amplify voices for environmental change. The study also highlights the need for comprehensive journalistic training programmes to address evolving reporting standards and the threat of disinformation in online environmental discourse. It also highlights the potential of future technologies like AI and AR to enhance the effectiveness of environmental journalism. The study concludes that citizen-generated content has a significant impact on environmental awareness and action and that stakeholders must address challenges like credibility issues, information overload, and platform biases. Transparent editorial standards, media literacy, and diverse voices in citizen reporting can help.
